TROUBLE WITH THE CHANGE-UP… IT’S NOT WHO YOU THINK.

I just got to spend two days working with one of our clients in Florida and I’m always fascinated by what I learn. Here’s the takeaway from this trip.

The people who are the boots-on-the-ground-doers aren’t afraid of change. What they really are seeking is a guide to teach them how to make change happen.

Let me explain. I gave a seminar on fundraising to leaders of a prominent Veterans organization and a huge part of it discusses the changing behaviors of the American consumer. It’s usually here that I get nervous with an older audience that I’m losing them with data and information about how we have to approach younger Veterans.

Instead, I was greeted with head nods and a tremendous amount of positive feedback.

You see, these are the people who are trying to make it work for the cause. They know change is necessary to survive, much less grow. And they love the cause so much that they are willing to put in the work to make it happen.

But, they simply don’t know how.
